Content Editor

PD Media Lab, a division of The Press Democrat, a locally owned 60,000-circulation newspaper in Northern California, has an opening for a full-time Content Editor. This position will work closely with our advertisers, designers, developers and project managers to provide primarily content service and support, and secondarily, technical service and support, for PD Media Lab clients. This person will provide primary support across a number of client websites, products and services.

This position is responsible for:
Writing blog and social media posts for clients.
Outlining content strategy for clients and
implementing that strategy.
Providing editing and support for client content
for SEO articles, e-newsletters, website pages,
blogs and special promotions.
Contribute to PowerPoint presentations and
other Social Media collateral.
Assist with content development and technical
support.
Support new business development and
strategic planning efforts.
Work with select social media, content and
other third-party vendors on behalf our clients.
Define and track performance of campaigns and
initiatives.
Stay current with all digital services industry
developments and best practices.

Job Requirements:
•Minimum of three years content writing
experience required; digital marketing
experience preferred.
•Bachelor's degree or equivalent in relevant field
and/or demonstrated past success in
comparable position(s).
•Ability to make decisions independently and
iterate rapidly
•Exceptional writing proficiency, proofreading
and editing skills.
In-depth knowledge of copywriting, SEO
techniques and marketing strategy
In depth knowledge of latest digital
development tools and techniques.
Knowledge of online marketing and public
relations strategy
Working knowledge of IT, operations and sales.
Ability to use tools/measures and systems (e.g.,
video monitoring, Google Alerts/ Analytics)
Experience with MS Office

back-end support.

•Building strategic working relationships
•Active Learning
